Stylize Your Shutters with Options like Craftsman Shutter Frames in Sacramento

June 26, 2017

It doesn’t happen often, but we’ve heard a Sacramento homeowner or two claim that “all shutters look the same.” Let’s eliminate any misconception – those claims couldn’t be further from reality.

Many people don’t realize the number of options there are when it comes to custom plantation shutters in Sacramento, and the impact those options may have. Possibly chief among those options is the frame style you choose for your shutters.

Sacramento Custom Shutter Frames

The options available to you for shutter frames will depend a few different things:

  • How your window opens and closes.

  • The depth of the window jamb.

  • Whether you need to have an inside or outside mount.

  • Your own personal taste and design.

Some of our shutter frames are offered only in certain materials, like our Polywood® faux wood shutters, a few are only available with an inside or outside mount of a window, and some will have a look that may blend in perfectly with your existing trim, like our Craftsman frame shutters, great for Craftsman style homes and only offered by Sunburst.

Here are some of the most commonly picked shutter frames for Sacramento homeowners.

Craftsman frame  Outside mounted L frame  Z frame for shutters  Decorative casing frame

Craftsman Frame Shutters - You can’t read a single article about contemporary home design without seeing Craftsman design. This Sunburst-exclusive frame was created specifically for Craftsman style houses and similar designs. A Craftsman frame gives you a simple, clean look, so no part of your home looks gaudy compared to the rest. If getting back to your Craftsman roots is your desire, this is your shutter frame. Currently available in Polywood and reclaimed wood shutters only.

L-Frame Shutters - An L-frame is possibly the least complex and most practical frame style. They have a smooth, modern look, and tend to be the easiest to work around for specialty windows. The L-frame can be used as both an outside and inside mount, if you’d like to keep your existing window trim in place, and is available in all of our different shutter types.

Z-Frame Shutters - Z-frames are a widely-chosen style because they offer a stylish, sophisticated look to your window, not unlike crown or bass molding. This frame is called a “Z-frame” because of the shape of its exterior, which is mounted on the inside of the window jamb, but wraps around to the outside creating a “Z” figure. That extended shape makes it so you don’t even need window trim around the window. Z-frames are available in for all of our shutter products.

Decorative Frame Shutters - A decorative frame definitely lives up to its name. With stylish texture and an eye-catching shape, this frame looks fantastic for windows that don’t have any trim, or if you want to cover your existing trim. Decorative frames are available in Polywood faux wood and Ovation hardwood shutters.
