Announcing Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner05/08/2017Curtis Orton Spring is blowing by here in Sacramento, but we haven’t forgotten about our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest. Our latest winner is Tonya S., who submitted some photos of her new shutters that feature a lot of great design choices. Tonya’s home features some gorgeous new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Since those shutters are shut, you can really get a look at how much control plantation shutters really give you over your lighting. Envision that dining room with some softer lighting; it would be a picture-perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With the right shutters in your space like Tonya has, you can capture the mood you want regardless of what it’s like outside. Take a look at how the white shutters flawlessly match the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those matching whites let the black wood furniture and the wood floor’s texture stand out even more. She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. She also shared a photo of her new sliding barn door shutter! There are a number of reasons we love this barn door shutter. First off, it looks fantastic. The homegrown aesthetic of the wood paneling with that smooth jet black hardware above give an enduring yet relaxed look. What we like even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. The barn door shutter sits on the front of the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still allowing the window to open and close. Since her shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still make use of her window sill. As an example, if she wanted to set a flower on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter to let it soak up some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside. According to Tonya this is the third time they’ve had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for continuing to choose us for all her shutter needs. For being chosen as our Share Your Shutters winner this quarter, Tonya received a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area. Are your new shutters beautiful enough to be featured here? We want to see them! Share a photo of your shutters with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or post a photo on our Facebook page. We’d love to feature some shutters from a Californian in our next update! Or if Tonya’s photos make you think your home is missing a little something, we want to help.
