In the '70s, draperies and blinds were the standard window treatments in most homes. That’s when Sunburst Shutters showed clients a longer lasting and energy-efficient window treatment: plantation shutters. 

Initially, the company offered wood shutters exclusively. But it was quickly apparent that Sunburst should make the ultimate shutter – one that provides maximum energy efficiency, and looks as exquisite 20 years from now as the day you had it installed. After much research, sampling, and testing, Sunburst released its Polywood Shutters. 

Once Sunburst offered the best shutters on the market, they grew considerably, opening stores across America. In 2008, Sunburst Shutters grew its offerings into blinds, shades, draperies, and window film – and changed its name to Sunburst Shutters & Window Fashions.
